Belgian soprano Kelly Poukens (°1992) has made an international impression with her interpretations of contemporary, acclaimed operas. She won several awards and received important recognitions, such as the Stiftung Blatow Prize of the international Anton Rubinstein Competition, the Silver Prize in the Manhattan International Music Competition, the Prix Sophie, Laureates Award and Audience Prize during the Princess Christina Competition, and was runner-up in the Honda Competition for Classical Music.
Kelly Poukens has performed as a soloist with Brussels Philharmonic, the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides, the Netherlands Opera and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, and has appeared alongside the well-known actor Jan Decleir with theatre company Het Banket. Some of her exquisite roles have been recorded, one of which was even broadcast by BBC Sounds.
