Officially founded in 1772, the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra has been closely associated with the productions of the renowned Monnaie Theatre ever since.
Thoroughly revitalised by Gerard Mortier in 1981, the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra has since had the opportunity to prove its versatility, both on stage and in the orchestra pit. In addition to its activities as an opera orchestra, the orchestra also presents a symphonic cycle each season.
