An evening of voices, stillness and intense emotion.
Under the direction of Eric Whitacre himself, the Vlaams Radiokoor performed The Sacred Veil, his deeply moving choral cycle about love, loss, hope and the fragility of life. Pianist Nikolaas Kende and cellist Justus Grimm added to the work’s intimate sound world.
In Brussels, amateur choirs Lassenne Vocale and KAÏROS also shared the stage. They worked with Eric Whitacre on several of his compositions and performed them under his direction during the first half of the concert. At the end of the evening, all the voices came together as both choirs joined the Vlaams Radiokoor for a special final moment.
Look back on an evening in which so many different voices came together as one.
