premiere: Timpani Concerto, Wim Henderickx
When composer Wim Henderickx passed away suddenly in December 2022, there were a number of nearly finished compositions on his desk. Wim had been working for some time on a concept for a timpani concerto for the Brussels Philharmonic and his close friend, the timpanist Gert François. His long-standing musical assistant, Diederik Glorieux, prepared this score for performance – in close consultation with Wim’s family. Wim’s wife, Bea Steylaerts, had been his business and practical right-hand woman since 2004.
