In collaboration with the Klarafestival, the UGhent university is conducting a large scale research on the future of (classical) music festival in a post-pandemic world. Fill in the online survey.

The global pandemic has put many certainties into question and has, as you know, presented a significant challenge to the arts sector. The lockdown and resulting closure of concert halls has forced organisations to reinvent themselves and reconsider their operations in a post-pandemic world. What will a classical music concert look like in this future? Are you, as a music lover, prepared to go digital and pay for online concerts? Is this an opportunity to be more inclusive, more accessible, and reach new audiences? Could the future of music festivals be a hybrid one?

In order to answer these questions, Klarafestival, in cooperation with UGhent, has launched a large-scale market research exercise amongst concert goers and music lovers. As a partner of Klarafestival, we would like to support this endeavour. The aim is to gather market data which will enable the arts sector to develop a concrete plan for the future.

For this exercise to succeed, the research team needs your support. As Klarafestival will share the results of the research with the entire music industry, this survey will enable us to rethink our proposition with your opinions and preferences taken into account.

We therefore ask you to generously give 15 minutes of your time to complete this survey. In doing so, you will not only help the music industry and the musicians that both sustain and rely on it, but also the student researchers, who are facing a multitude of challenges in conducting research at such a time.

Your support is greatly appreciated.
