The award honours a very rich and dynamic collaboration with the Brussels Philharmonic, the Vlaams Radio Koor and Hervé Niquet, established from the very inception of the Centre de musique romantique française in 2009.

Since its release in September 2015, the recording of Herculanum has earned award after award: a “Diamant” from Opéra Magazine, an “ffff” from Télérama, four hearts from Forum Opéra, four diapasons from Diapason, the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, and a nomination for the 2016 International Classical Music Award. The 2016 Echo Klassik Award now confirms the excellent critical response that the record gained inGermany.

On the occasion of a cycle dedicated to Félicien David in 2014, the Palazzetto Bru Zane had brought Herculanum back to life for a concert at the Opéra Royal de Versailles and recorded it at Brussels. In October 2016, the Wexford Festival will host its first recreation on the opera stage since the end of the 19th century.
